Bring the recipe box into forever

Scan your family's handwritten recipe cards.
Keep them for good.

Photograph the cards in Grandma's tin. Our AI reads the handwriting — even the faded, splattered ones — and turns each card into a beautiful, searchable recipe. Share the library with family. Print it as a real book.

Three steps from shoebox to heirloom

No typing. No tedious transcription weekends. The scanning is the magic.

1.

Snap the card

Front and back, straight from your phone. Batch-scan a whole stack in minutes.

2.

AI transcribes it

Handwriting-aware AI extracts the title, ingredients, and steps — you just review and confirm. The original photo stays attached forever.

3.

Keep it forever

Searchable, taggable, shareable with family — and exportable as a print-ready cookbook.

Made for family recipes, not food blogs

Reads real handwriting

Cursive, faded ink, "bake until done" — our AI was built for actual recipe cards, not printouts.

Family libraries

Invite your people. Browse each other's cookbooks, save copies, even add recipes straight into Mom's collection.

Print a real book

Turn the whole collection into a print-ready cookbook — the family gift that actually gets used.

Cook with it

Cook mode, scaling, shopping lists, and a meal log with photos — it's a kitchen app, not just an archive.

Import from anywhere

Paste a link, share from your browser, or upload a PDF — web recipes join the box too.

The original, preserved

Every scan keeps the photo of the card — the handwriting itself is part of the heirloom.

Why we built this

When Judith passed, her recipe box was one of the things her family couldn't bear to lose — decades of handwritten cards from both sides of the family, some in her hand, some in her mother's.

Typing them out would have taken months. Photographing them left them unsearchable. So we built the tool we wished existed: point a phone at a card and get the recipe back — and keep the handwriting.

Family Recipe Box started as one family's archive. It's ready for yours now.

Questions

Is my family's data private?

Yes. Recipes are private by default — nothing is shared unless you invite someone. We never sell data and there are no ads. See our privacy policy.

How good is the handwriting recognition?

It's the heart of the product — we use frontier AI vision models tuned for recipe cards. You always get a review screen before a recipe is saved, and the original photo stays attached.

Can family members join free?

Yes — joining and browsing a shared library is free. Scanning your own cards beyond the free allowance is what Premium is for.

What about iPhone?

Android first — iOS is on the roadmap. Family members on iPhone can browse shared libraries on the web in the meantime.
